The Republic of Armenia is a developing nation. It has substantial success economically but still does not have enough tax base to truly help those who cannot help themselves. This problem, coupled with the social stigma that extended from the Soviet period, leads to children who are simply locked away and never educated because they are “not normal”. It will take a lot of caring people to reverse this trend and take a largely forgotten group of people and help them to have a better life.
